The Topazio variety has long been renowned in the Cerrado region for its quality and productivity. The Nascimento family’s Topazio is no exception. Before drying, the farmers aerobically fermented the cherries, which means they were placed in a barrel with air access for a certain period of time. The result is a coffee with strong notes of cherry, lemon, and other citrus fruits. The coffee is therefore quite delicate, with a smooth body reminiscent of a liqueur. The perfect coffee for drip brewing.

The history of Nascimento Coffee begins with the vision of Mário Alves do Nascimento, who planted his first coffee trees in the 1920s. Production expanded in the mid-1970s, driven by agricultural incentive programs in the Cerrado Mineiro region.

The current owner, Betinho, is Mario’s son and has been involved in coffee production for over 40 years. He represents the second generation of a family of coffee growers who have made a significant contribution to the development of the town of Patrocínio through coffee production. The São Bernardo farm upholds its principles focused on high productivity and quality, and constantly strives to improve processes and physical infrastructure that positively impact coffee quality. Technology has also always been a central focus for the family, as a continuous supply of coffee is their firm commitment. The arrival of children and grandchildren has brought a greater emphasis on specialty coffee production and the development of modern products and processes.

Their farm, Fazenda São Bernardo, has always been synonymous with quality and tradition in specialty coffee production. Now, the family has taken a new step to bring you even closer to their essence: Nascimento Coffee was created to bring the best of their terroir directly into your cup! What began as a dream is now a tradition: specialty coffee, grown with pride, technology, and respect for the land.

The family has planted varieties known for their quality and productivity, particularly in the Cerrado Mineiro region. Arara, Catuai 144, Mundo Novo, Paraiso, and Topazio are some of the varieties grown on their plantation.

Cerrado de Minas is the first Brazilian coffee-growing region to be given the status of designation of origin (Cerrado Mineiro), giving it a status similar to wine-growing regions. With an altitude of 800-1300 masl and well-defined seasons (humid summers and mild, dry winters), this region is very suitable for growing coffee. Popular species here are Mundo Novo and Catuaí.
